However, being a registered user and logging in the platform are mandatory in order to provide ratings and reviews, upload pictures and videos, create your own guides, or follow the updates from other guides and users.
Pictures and Videos
You can upload pictures with the following formats: png and jpg.
You can also post links with videos on the platforms: YouTube and Vimeo.
You can take pictures and videos of any decorative item: furniture, lamps, vases, pictures, illustrations, paintings, sculptures, etc… or of different ambiences: homes, offices, museums, churches, restaurants, leisure areas, castles, etc…, All of them from the point of view of Art, Design and Interior Decoration.
It is advisable to pay special attention to quality care (lighting, focus, frame) and veracity (title, description, location) in order to give great popularity to your pictures and videos. Their originality and beauty will also influence their popularity positively.

Spottings
A spotting is a collection of photographs and videos that have been published with the same title, place and address. In other words, the same object or ambience has been photographed several times by the same or by different people, and the Spotting offers the possibility to observe it from all the provided perspectives.
In a spotting you can view information such as:

e.g. Hollywood House.

e.g. Ikea San Sebastián de los Reyes.

Address.
e.g. Commerce Square 1
- The people who took the different pictures and videos that take part in the Spotting.
- The types of guides in which one or more of the photos are included.
Clicking on the photo or on the spotting title, it expands allowing the user to surf among the various pictures and videos. You can take the following actions with every photo/video of the spotting:
- Check comments from other users.
- Post your comments.
- Rate clicking on the stars.
Guides
A guide is a catalog or collection of photographs grouped under one title or subject. E.g. Furniture Design Guide, charming restaurant guide, etc.
There are different types of guides:
Free guides (FREE), as the name suggests, are subject free and its use is recommended for all users.
DecoGuides (Dg) are also subject free but they can only be created and managed by Decorapolis administrators.
The rest of guide types have specific thematic, designed for artists, professionals and companies to publish their creations, jobs and products.
Guides popularity depends on several factors:
- The consistency between the content of the guide and its title and description.
- The correct choice of guide type that best suits its content.
- The interest of the subject chosen for the guide.
- The popularity of the photos of the guide (you can have a look at our recommendations on this in the section "Photos and Videos").
All these factors will influence a better positioning in searches, as well as a greater number of followers of the guides.
Deco-Explorer
A Deco-Explorer is any Decorapolis member who contributes actively to the Community providing content.
The Deco-Explorers ranking rewards the most active users with greater visibility and better positioning.
Tracking and User Guide
In general you can follow any Decorapolis Guide and User by clicking the associated “Follow” button.
If you follow a guide, you will receive notifications whenever it is updated.
If you follow a user, you will receive notifications every time he/she posts a photo or video, each time he/she posts or updates a guide, and every time you update any of the information in his/her profile.
